Who…whooo!
A few nights ago we had a surprise visitor in our backyard and it turned into a fantastic photo op for me. My nighttime visitor was ever so cooperative! He seemed quite please to pose and even played coy with me as he would look away and then glance back. It was as if he was begging to be photographed.
This was a rare opportunity and he was very patient. I was able to get within three feet of him to capture this really wonderful image. I’m calling him “he” but it could just as likely be a female Barred Owl. This owl and his family of fine feathered friends are the one’s responsible for that lovely night music we are often blessed with. Also known by many as “Hoot Owls”, they often chatter to one another in the trees around our property but we’ve never had one quite so friendly!!
Isn’t he spectacular?!
Thanks for visiting. More to come!

He’s probably looking at you like that, cos all your thrashing about in the undergrowth kept scaring his dinner off!! Lol.. Sure was a wonderful opportunity though, and a great shot too..
